The Wind Turbine Technician is a critical role within the Renewable Energy industry, responsible for ensuring the operational readiness of wind farms. As a specialized professional, the technician maximizes the performance and efficiency of wind turbines, directly contributing to the uninterrupted production of sustainable electrical energy.

Key responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance:
    Perform scheduled inspections and servicing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to prevent potential failures.
  • Troubleshooting & Fault Repair:
    Identify the root causes of malfunctions and carry out immediate repairs to minimize turbine downtime.
  • Component Replacement:
    Replace major wind turbine components, including generators, gearboxes, and electronic control units.
  • Blade & Tower Inspection:
    Assess the structural integrity of blades and towers, identifying cracks, corrosion, or damage caused by environmental conditions.
  • Use of Diagnostic Tools:
    Utilize SCADA systems and specialized software to monitor performance and analyze operational data.
  • Technical Reporting:
    Prepare detailed reports documenting maintenance activities, findings, and spare parts used.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
    Strictly adhere to health and safety protocols, particularly when working at heights or in high-voltage environments.
